Chimera Ranch

Greetings; 

We are Sandra and Norm Johnson and Chimera Ranch is our DREAM in the making.  For several years we have contemplated ways of being able to make an investment in ourselves that would allow us to migrate out of corporate america and into the world of owning our own business.

Our research of many opportunities, lead us to the Alpaca industry and the great opportunities that abound.  This research and the supporting information has provided us the confidence on which we have created Chimera Ranch.  This unique business opportunity is taking us one step closer to having our dream answered.

Why "Chimera", is a question we are often asked.  1) It is a synonym for Dream.  2) it is a genetic term that is focused on integrating the DNA of two different animals. 

So after much research and debate, we felt the term really described our goals of creating an Alpaca farm where excellence in Conformation and Fleece characteristics is what we are able to achieve with every cria that is born. 

Our mission, like many alpaca breeders, is to create the ultimate alpaca.  That alpaca that is conformationally correct in every way and is covered with fleece that is exceptional in fineness, density, staple length and structure.

We are overwhelmed with the amount of support that exists in the Alpaca Community.  All that we have spoken to have recommended to buy the best females and to breed them to the best males you can find.  We have done our best to follow these simple instructions and are grateful to all that have helped us begin this new journey and lifestyle.

 12 Jun 2010;  Words can not express the overwhelming feeling we had when we opened Facebook and saw all of the congratulation notes.  Then we open E-mail and get the note that announced us as 2010 Reserve Small Breeders of the year from the Futurity show.
